Brühl's Terrace Proposal in Dresden

A riverside promenade the whole continent envied.

A Little History

The story first.

Once part of the city ramparts, this raised terrace above the Elbe was opened to the public in the early 1800s and quickly earned its nickname, "the Balcony of Europe", lined with baroque palaces and grand staircases.

Why It's Romantic

The atmosphere you're proposing into.

The terrace looks straight across the Elbe to the old town's domes, with sandstone balustrades, ornamental gardens and river light. At sunset the whole promenade turns gold — the classic Dresden view.
