A New Year’s Eve Proposal in Prague

"She said yes" as the year turns — it's hard to beat as a story. The trick is that midnight in Prague's centre is a happy chaos of crowds and confetti, which is wonderful to celebrate in and terrible to propose in. So we split the two.

Propose in the golden afternoon, celebrate at midnight

Our standard NYE plan: the proposal happens on the 31st in daylight — a calm riverside spot or garden, full photography, zero crowd stress. By midnight you're already engaged, ring on, champagne in hand, celebrating instead of sweating logistics. The story is the same; the photos are far better.

If you want midnight itself

Book a rooftop, river-view restaurant or hotel terrace months ahead and propose there as the city erupts — private, warm, and above the crush. We photograph until the toast; street-level midnight in the Old Town is the one setting we honestly advise against.

Dress and logistics

NYE is the one night Prague dresses up — lean into it. An evening dress and a good coat photograph beautifully in the winter lights. Book dinner early (everything sells out), and keep the ring with you, not in a coat-check.

The morning-after session

January 1st is secretly the best photo morning of the year: the city sleeps in, the streets are empty, and you're newly engaged. A short sunrise portrait walk through the deserted Old Town is the perfect first act of the year.
