Štramberk climbs a hillside in wooden terraces below a single round tower, and Czechs call it the Moravian Bethlehem for good reason: log cottages, steep lanes, orchards between the houses and the Beskydy mountains as a backdrop. Small enough to own
The whole town takes twenty minutes to walk end to end, which means a session can cover every single good frame without a car. It also means you will meet the same three cats twice. That intimacy is exactly the appeal — nothing here is staged for tourists.
The ears
Štramberk's gingerbread "ears" (Štramberské uši) are a protected local speciality, cone-shaped and sold warm from shops on the square. They photograph beautifully in hands and make a very specific souvenir of the day.
