A Little History

The story first.

Kokořín's slender tower rises from a wooded sandstone gorge that so enchanted the romantic poet Karel Hynek Mácha that this whole region is called Máchův kraj — Mácha country. His poem "Máj" (May), the most beloved verse in Czech, is why couples kiss under blossoming trees every 1 May.
