LGBTQ+ Proposals in Prague & Central Europe: A Planning Guide

Every experience we offer works exactly the same for every couple — same planning, same discretion, same craft. Prague is one of Central Europe's most open and welcoming cities, and we've had the privilege of photographing proposals of all kinds. Here's what's useful to know.

Prague is an easy city to be yourselves in

Prague has a long-standing reputation as the most LGBTQ-friendly city in Central Europe — a visible community, an established Pride festival each August, and an everyday atmosphere where couples simply don't draw attention. For a public proposal at a landmark, that matters.

Privacy on your terms

Discretion is our default for every proposal, and we know it can carry extra weight — perhaps family doesn't know yet, or you'd simply rather the moment stay yours. Walled gardens (Vrtba, Vojan), the private boat, and quiet dawn landmarks give you complete control over who's around. Nothing is shared or published without your explicit say-so, ever.

Two rings, two moments?

Some couples plan a double proposal — both partners asking, both rings, sometimes as mutual surprises coordinated separately with us (our favourite logistical puzzle). Others keep the classic one-knee format. There's no template; we photograph the version that's true to you.

City by city: how our destinations compare

Prague: the most LGBTQ-friendly city in Central Europe — a visible community, Prague Pride each August, and an everyday ease that makes public landmark proposals comfortable. Berlin: one of the world's queer capitals; marriage equality has been law in Germany since 2017, and no proposal raises an eyebrow anywhere in the city. Vienna: warmly open, with its famous Rainbow Parade along the Ring; Austria has had full marriage equality since 2019.

Dresden & Salzburg: the same German and Austrian legal protections apply, and both are seasoned tourist cities — though they're quieter and more traditional than the capitals, so couples wanting total ease often choose a garden or early-morning slot, which we arrange as standard. Brno: a young, relaxed university city — comfortable and unbothered. Český Krumlov & Karlovy Vary: small towns that live on visitors from everywhere; for extra privacy we simply use the quiet hours and walled gardens we'd recommend to any couple.

The practical bits

Everything else in our guides applies unchanged — the planning process, timing, the restaurants. Tell us your story and what would make the moment feel right; that's the only brief we need.
