Proposal in Prague in April

April is the month Prague turns pink and white: the orchards on Petřín Hill flower, the baroque gardens unlock after winter, and Easter markets fill the squares. It's the first properly romantic-postcard month — and it still beats summer for space.

1. Petřín orchards in bloom

Petřín Hill

The blossom proposal — white and pink canopies, city views between the branches, soft grass underfoot.

2. Vrtba Garden (reopened)

Malá Strana

Freshly open, freshly planted, and quietest in these first weeks of the season — the hidden baroque amphitheatre at its best.

3. Stromovka

The royal park

Prague's biggest park in first leaf — long avenues, ponds and enough space that nobody will be in your background.

Blossom timing

Petřín's cherry and apple orchards usually peak mid-to-late April, weather depending — a two-week window that makes for the most requested photos of spring. Our blossom guide tracks the spots tree by tree; if blossom is the whole point, keep your date flexible by a few days.

Gardens reopen

Vrtba Garden and the other formal terraces open for the season at the start of April — the hidden baroque option returns to the menu after five months away.

Light, weather and Easter

Sunrise around 6:10, sunset around 19:55 mid-month. Days run 8–16 °C with April showers. Easter week brings markets to Old Town Square — festive, but the first real crowd bump of the year, so aim for mornings that week.
