November is Prague's film-noir month: fog on the river, lamps on by late afternoon, and the fewest visitors outside deep winter. If your idea of romance is moody rather than sunny — old lanterns, empty lanes, a coat and a scarf — this quietly brilliant month is yours. And in its final week, the Christmas markets switch on.

The atmosphere play
Sunrise around 7:20, sunset around 16:20 — lamplight shots from 16:30. Fog is common and photographically wonderful: the bridge towers floating, the lamps haloed. Cobblestones shine after rain. Lean into it.
Shelter as strategy
4–8 °C and grey spells mean the elegant covered spots earn their keep: colonnades, arcades, passages and the grand cafés. Build the day so no plan depends on blue sky — our rain plan is really a November plan.
