Leopoldskron Lake Proposal in Salzburg

A rococo palace reflected in a still lake beneath the fortress.

A Little History

The story first.

Schloss Leopoldskron, a rococo palace built in 1736 by the prince-archbishop Firmian, sits on its own lake south of the old town. Its lakeside terrace stood in for the von Trapp villa in The Sound of Music.

Why It's Romantic

The atmosphere you're proposing into.

The pale palace mirrored in the calm Weiher, the Hohensalzburg fortress and Untersberg mountain rising behind, swans on the water — one of the most romantic reflections in Austria.
