Jan Žižka's outnumbered Hussites won a famous battle on this ridge in 1420; the functionalist National Memorial crowned it in 1938, guarded by one of the largest equestrian bronzes in the world.

The long ridge walk ends at a granite prow with 360° views — Old Town's spires one way, Žižkov's TV tower the other. At dusk the terrace is just you, the statue, and the lights coming on.
