What to Wear for Your Proposal & Photos

You'll look at these photos for the rest of your lives, so it's worth a little thought — without overthinking it. A few simple guidelines go a long way.

Coordinate, don't match

Aim for outfits that sit in the same world — similar level of dressiness, complementary colours — rather than identical. If one of you is in a smart coat, the other shouldn't be in gym wear. Harmony reads beautifully; matching looks staged.

Choose timeless colours

Soft neutrals, muted tones, deep classic colours and gentle earthy shades photograph wonderfully against Prague's stone and greenery. Avoid large logos, busy patterns and neon, which date quickly and pull attention from your faces.

Dress for the season — and the walk

An elegant coat is an asset in autumn and winter; breathable fabrics matter in summer. Comfortable shoes are essential — many of our best spots involve cobblestones, steps or a short walk to the light. Bring a nicer layer you can add for the key moment.

Keep it you

The camera reads confidence more than any outfit. Wear something you feel like yourself in — the proposer especially, since nerves are enough to manage without a stiff collar. Comfortable and authentic always beats fussy.

A note for the surprise

If it's a secret, you can't ask your partner to dress up outright — so suggest the occasion ("let's make an effort, we're going somewhere special"). It keeps you both camera-ready without giving the game away.
