A Little History

The story first.

Marienbad rose in a forest valley in the 1800s and promptly seduced Europe — kings, composers and the elderly Goethe, whose hopeless love here for young Ulrike produced the Marienbad Elegy, one of the great love poems. The neo-baroque colonnade of 1889 and the Singing Fountain still perform daily.
