Volksgarten Proposal in Vienna

Thousands of roses and a Greek temple beside the palace.

A Little History

The story first.

Laid out in 1821 on former fortifications, the Volksgarten was Vienna's first public park. Its formal rose garden holds thousands of bushes around the neoclassical Theseus Temple, steps from the imperial Hofburg.

Why It's Romantic

The atmosphere you're proposing into.

Row upon row of roses in bloom, fountains, the little Greek temple, and benches under the trees — the most romantic, and most central, garden in Vienna.

Is Volksgarten right for your proposal?

Our favourite Vienna spot for an intimate, flower-filled proposal in the heart of the city. Peak rose bloom (June) is magical; the temple gives a distinctive backdrop year-round.
