Why photographers rate it
Authenticity. Most Czech castles were smoothed into châteaux over the centuries; Pernštejn was left alone. The result is texture — rough white plaster, iron, timber, rock — and a silhouette that looks invented. It is also far enough from any city that you will rarely share the viewpoints.
Practicalities
Interiors are tour-only and seasonal; the grounds, gardens and valley views carry the session. The approach from the car park is a short uphill walk on a good surface. Bring shoes you can walk in and a layer — the valley holds cool air even in summer.
