"Golden hour" is the soft, warm light in the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset — and it is the single biggest difference between a nice photo and the one you frame. Here is when it happens in Prague through the year, and how we plan proposals around it.

How long does the gold actually last?
Roughly 40–60 minutes after sunrise and before sunset — longer in winter when the sun stays low, shorter around midsummer. The blue hour (that deep-indigo glow for lit landmarks) is the 20–30 minutes just before sunrise or after sunset. A well-planned session rides the whole sequence: blue → gold → soft daylight.
Morning gold vs evening gold
Same colour, opposite cities. Morning gold comes with empty streets — Charles Bridge at 6am belongs to you. Evening gold comes with life: terraces filling, lamps warming up, but crowds too. For surprise proposals at famous places we almost always choose morning; for relaxed engagement sessions, evening works beautifully at the viewpoints.
