August keeps summer's warmth but starts returning the light to photographers: the sun sits lower, golden hour comes earlier, and by late August the crowds begin to thin. The river evenings — boat or bank — are as good as Prague gets.

Sunrise around 5:55, sunset around 20:15 mid-month — the golden hour drifts back to sociable times, and the low-angle late-summer light is noticeably richer than June's.
Warmth without the peak
Days run 14–25 °C; evenings stay dress-warm deep into the night. The first half of the month is still busy; from the third week the city audibly exhales. Sunrise remains the landmark move, but evening options widen again.
The river month
August is arguably the best boat month: warm, golden, with dusk at a romantic-but-reasonable hour. On land, the parks above the river — Letná, Riegrovy — give the sunset without the squeeze.
